Madeira Youth Forum

DYPALL Network facilitated the collaborative process that led to the creation of Regional Youth Policy for Madeira region.

This process directly involved: a network of 80 partners, more than 600 youngsters, 90 hours of non-formal education and participatory consultation and an incredible amount of passion and belief in the power of young people!

From 19th-21st October we presented all this work in Madeira – Funchal, together with over 165 participants.

The Forum counted with three parallel events: a conference, a training for teachers and the National Youth Meeting. There were around 200 people involved: young people, youth workers, policy-makers, government and municipality representatives. The participants came not only from Madeira but also from the Azores and the mainland.
The Conference’s main topic was the “Role of Young People in the development of the territories”. It was a good opportunity to share good practices and gain inspiration from them.

During the National Youth Meeting, the youngsters were challenged to choose the top 20 priorities from the Regional Youth Policy Plan, thus creating the Youth Agenda that will be presented to the different parties during the next elections.

It was a pleasure for DYPALL to lead this project that empowered young people and involved them in the decision-making process.
