Regional Youth Action Plan – Madeira Jovem

At this stage, we can consider that we are now halfway through the implementation of this ambitious project supporting the definition of a regional youth policy framework in the Autonomous regional of Madeira – Portugal.

The driving force behind this project is a close partnership between the Regional Directorate of Youth and Sports and the DYPALL Team who, together with a consortium of over 60 partner public and private entities, are setting in motion our working methodology. It’s the first time we have managed to bring together such a large and diverse group of partners, all of which are engaging and dedicating their energy to build a comprehensive youth action plan that encompasses 14 public policy areas.

Earlier this month, on the 13th of April, we discussed the project on the Parliament Assembly, bringing this process to the highest regional policy level. We have also launched the focus groups that will work together, during the next 3 months, on the 640 solutions proposed and prioritized by 400 youngsters during the participatory sessions that took place in the consultation phase (https://youtu.be/8-T6lHOZWUs ). This work will allow setting new programs and reinforcing existing ones.

The preparations for the Conference have also started. This event will gather experts and practitioners to share practices and identify strategies to increase the role of youth policy development at local and regional level. So, don’t forget to save the date 19 to 21 of October, in Funchal – Madeira.
