“Cities of Welcome” Final transnational project meeting

Activity

The final Transnational Project Meeting of the “Cities of Welcome” project was held from 24th – 27th January in Barcelona, Spain.

During the meeting, the partners collaboratively planned the upcoming online international conference “Cities of Welcome: Mainstreaming migrant youth participation at the local level” scheduled for 26th February. This conference will focus on sharing and discussing best practices for involving young migrants and young people with migrant backgrounds in local governance. The goal is to explore effective strategies and approaches to engage these groups actively.

The partners conducted a comprehensive assessment of the project’s achievements. In addition to reviewing the current project, the partners also explored potential opportunities for future initiatives. This included discussing ideas for collaborations aimed at further enhancing youth participation and engagement, particularly in the context of migration and integration.

Overall, the project’s activities underscored the consortium’s dedication to fostering youth participation and addressing the unique challenges faced by young migrants and individuals with migrant backgrounds in participating in local decision-making processes.

“Cities of Welcome – Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” is a KA2 Erasmus+ project between Migrafrica (Germany), DYPALL Network (Portugal),  Citizen Association United Youth (North Macedonia) and Fundació Catalunya Voluntària (Spain).
