“CITIES OF WELCOME” 2ND TRANSNATIONAL PARTNER’S MEETING

The second transnational partners’ meeting of the “Cities of Welcome: Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” project took place in Skopje, North Macedonia from 11th – 14th of April. The project consortium discussed the development of the main project result, the Publication “Models and strategies of improvement of young migrants’ participation in decision-making processes at the local level”, and the objectives of the activities that will be implemented in the following months.

The Publication will help municipalities and organizations to deepen their knowledge on how to implement inclusive, quality practices that improve the participation of young people with migrant backgrounds and young migrants at the local level, by getting inspired by the collection of good practices and following the assessment tool and guidelines developed in the scope of the project.

The Publication will be disseminated to all project partners, participants of the training course, stakeholders and associated partners, as well as the general public. The upcoming training course will aim to raise the awareness of the local stakeholders from Germany, North Macedonia, Portugal and Spain of the impact of how quality practices, models, and spaces for participation of young people with migrant backgrounds and young migrants have on their integration, and how these benefits both them and the local community they live in.

“Cities of Welcome – Improving the Participation of Young Migrants at Local Level” is a project between Migrafrica (Germany), DYPALL Network, Fundació Catalunya Voluntària (Spain) and Citizen Association United Youth (North Macedonia) which aims to improve the conditions, overall integration and participant of young migrants and youngsters of migrant background in their local communities by sharing good practices and examples of integration and collectively trying to find better solutions together with and for this target group.
