Shaping the Future of Youth Participation: DYPALL Network in Tromsø

From 18th to 21st March, DYPALL Network travelled to Tromsø, Norway, for a high-stakes preparatory meeting for the Europe Goes Local Conference, which is set to take place from 2nd to 5th June 2026. Hosted at the Tvibit Youth Centre, our mission was clear: to lay the groundwork for an international conference that would bridge the gap between local young people and political decision-making.

Setting the Stage

The meeting kicked off with a technical site visit to the Radisson Blu Hotel, ensuring that the future event will have the high-level infrastructure and technical support necessary for a seamless experience. However, the heart of our work took place at Tvibit, a space that perfectly embodies the spirit of youth engagement.

Over two intensive days, the preparatory team focused on three core pillars:

Strategic alignment: We held a digital session with Camilla Ringdal Dukefos, Head of the Norwegian National Agency, to align our vision with the host country’s expectations and the broader European political framework.

Defining the “why”: We spent significant time dissecting the event’s concept note, refining its aims, and ensuring that every session serves the ultimate objective of strengthening youth participation at the local level.

Drafting the agenda: Our expert trainers worked to transform abstract goals into a concrete, structured program. Through rounds of feedback and debate, we shaped a draft agenda that promises to be both innovative and impactful.

As we departed Tromsø, we left with a robust roadmap. This meeting wasn’t just about logistics; it was about ensuring that when participants gather for the final event, they find a space that is politically relevant, technically sound, and deeply inspiring.

Stay tuned as we continue to develop this exciting project!
