Training course “Youth centres – Models of participation and management” Training course took place from 27th September – 3rd of October in Bilbao, Spain, organized by DYPALL Network in cooperation with Novisi Elkartea. Youth workers and municipality officers from Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey explored the topic of co-management of youth centers with young people. The Training course, was based on non-formal education methodologies and aimed to contribute to the professional development of all participants, giving the opportunity to them to improve their knowledge, competencies and abilities about the theoretical background of youth participation. Besides, exploring different models and practices in managing youth centres, the participants had access to several methodologies that they could apply according to their specific context and target. The participants had the opportunity to improve their competencies in creating participatory settings and environments and settling strategies that aim to involve young people in the processes of co-creation of youth centres. Competencies such as planning, organizing, staff managing, leading or directing, and guiding a space to accomplish a goal, were explored and adapted to each context in order to allow the participants to transfer the knowledge to their own reality. Another key element was the opportunity for the participants to share experiences and challenges that they face running youth spaces and fostering youth participation. This training course was organised with the support of Erasmus+ programme through the Spanish National Agency – INJUVE.
