Kick-off Meeting of the PLAYCRACY Project

The Transnational Partners Meeting for the PLAYCRACY – Game-based approaches for strengthening youth participation in democracy project took place from 2nd to 4th December 2025 in Portimão, officially marking the start of the project’s activities.

This initiative seeks to boost young people’s involvement in democratic life by equipping youth workers with creative, game-based learning methods. At its core, the project aims to inspire young people to explore democratic processes through practical, hands-on experiences, helping them build confidence and a stronger sense of agency in their communities.

Throughout the three-day meeting, project coordinators and representatives from the partner organisations gathered to exchange good practices and participate in a series of brainstorming sessions. These discussions helped shape the project’s upcoming steps, which include designing a toolkit for trainers and developing a training programme tailored to the needs of youth workers. The intention is to provide accessible resources that bring gamification and board games into civic education, encouraging critical thinking, informed decision-making and active participation.

The project is coordinated by Asociatia Share Education. Impartasim Educatie (Romania), in cooperation with DYPALL Network (Portugal) and Dracon Rules Design Studio (Greece), and is co-funded by the European Union.
