YOUTH DEMOCRACY ACADEMY TRAINING COURSE

Youth Democracy Academy training for teachers and youth workers was organised by DYPALL Network from 28th February – 6th March 2022 in Setúbal, Portugal.

The main purpose of the training was to capacitate the participants to implement the Youth Democracy Academy (YDA) program with young people in their local realities. Participants were exploring different elements of the program and developing sets of skills and tools that will help them bring closer the concept of democracy and citizen participation to the youth in Sweden and Italy where the YDA program will be implemented in the upcoming months. The training course equipped the participants with knowledge and skills on how to implement the educational toolkit and board game using non-formal education methods and tools.

The Youth Democracy Academy aims to enable youth with the opportunity to learn how democracy works at different levels, how it impacts their lives, and how they can actively participate in it.

The “Youth Democracy Academy” consisted of:

  •    “Educate for democracy” training program
  •   Board game “Engage” supporting the training program
  •   An assessment tool to measure the impact of the program

Youth Democracy Academy is a long-term project done by a consortium composed of DYPALL Network, Ölands folkhögskola (Sweden), Gry szkoleniowe (Poland), and La Fenice APS (Italy) under Erasmus + KA2 Innovation. The training was organised with the support of the Youth Department of Setúbal.
