Training course on the use of digital tools for youth participation and youth work at the local level

The training course on the use of digital tools for youth participation and youth work at the local level, organized by DYPALL Network, took place from 6th February – 12th February 2022 in Portimão, Portugal.

During the training youth workers and municipality workers from Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia had the opportunity to explore e-participation and innovative digital tools that can contribute to quality youth participation in decision-making processes at the local level.

The training course was based on non-formal education methodologies and aimed to enable the participants to engage young people through digital tools and platforms. The participants had the opportunity to foster their knowledge in the field, to exchange good practices from their own realities and to experiment with some of the platforms through practical exercises.

Furthermore, participants shared innovative ways for young people’s e-participation and means to create spaces where youth can work with decision-makers on establishing local youth policies and strategies for the development of their communities using digital tools. Our guest facilitators from Tree company and GiShub presented their tools and practices that sparked reflection on how such tools could be used in the participants’ realities. Some of these practices will be presented in our Study that will be launched at the final event of the project in Brussels in June 2022.

This training is part of a project led by DYPALL Network in cooperation with Tree company (Belgium), Inštitut za elektronsko participacijo (INePA) (Slovenia), ARS for Progress of People (Belgium), and GIShub | GIScience for Humanity (Italy). It is funded under the Erasmus+ KA2 Exchange of Good practices programme by the Portuguese National Agency.
