Official opening of Cascais European Youth Capital 2018

Cascais European Youth Capital 2018 was officially open on 23rd January. The ceremony took place in Estoril Congress Centre and it counted on high level representatives from the Cascais Municipality, the Portuguese Government and the national and international Civil Society Organizations. Addressing the audience were the European Youth Capital’s Envoy from Cascais Muncipality, Catarina Marques Vieira, as well as  the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo, the Board Member of the European Youth Forum, Kristen Aigro and the Mayor of Cascais Municipality, Carlos Carreiras.

Under the theme “Glocal Youth”, this year’s EYC will aim at promoting spaces for the sharing of good practices, with regards to youth policies, between the local and international levels, fostering international cooperation that may contribute for the development of the European and Global Citizenships.
