Fostering a Culture of Participation: Mainstreaming Local Youth Councils in Europe

The project aims to empower youth participation in Europe by strengthening Local Youth Councils (LYCs). We’ll analyze existing LYC practices in participating countries to identify best practices and improve existing structures. Stakeholders involved in LYCs will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. We’ll raise awareness about the educational and civic importance of LYCs in fostering democratic young citizens. Additionally, we’ll develop standards to assess the quality, impact, and reach of LYCs, ensuring effective youth participation in decision-making processes. Finally, the project will advocate for the widespread adoption of LYCs across Europe, recognizing them as crucial instruments for empowered youth.
