Let’s exchange knowledge on participatory budgeting

The project explored how participatory budgeting could motivate young people by giving them a stronger sense of ownership in local projects, building on successful examples already implemented in Slovenia, such as Ajdovščina and Domžale. It aimed to exchange experiences with Portuguese and Croatian partners to understand how participatory budgeting could activate and retain young people in local communities. The project included a five-day study visit to Portugal and a three-day study meeting in Slovenia, equipping youth workers with the competences to implement participatory budgeting in their own contexts. Each participant developed an implementation plan for their organisation, promoting active citizenship and equal opportunities for young people through inclusive decision-making processes.
