Het studiebezoek aan Gent \u201cYouth policies for better local democracies\u201d, georganiseerd door DYPALL Network in samenwerking met Bataljong en de afdeling Jeugdzaken van de stad Gent, vond plaats van 27 mei tot 1 juni 2024 in Gent, Belgi\u00eb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tijdens de activiteit leerden de deelnemers over de deelname van jongeren aan Gent<\/a>, de Europese Jongerenhoofdstad 2024, en maakte kennis met andere Europese organisaties die actief zijn op het gebied van jongerenparticipatie in besluitvormingsprocessen op lokaal niveau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het programma van het studiebezoek bood de deelnemers de mogelijkheid om te leren van Bataljong<\/a>\u201cbeste praktijken. Met een focus op het verbeteren van democratische processen, biedt Bataljong voortdurende ondersteuning aan lokale overheden in Vlaanderen, Belgi\u00eb, bij het opzetten en onderhouden van platforms voor betrokkenheid van jongeren bij de besluitvorming. Deelnemers maakten kennis met initiatieven als Debattle, Jonge Wegweters en Roadmap. Ze werkten ook samen met de Gentse Lokale Jeugdraad. Deze raad, bestaande uit 20 leden in de leeftijd van 16-30 jaar, adviseert over beleid, houdt verkiezingen en ontwikkelt een memorandum van prioriteiten voor jongeren dat moet worden opgenomen in politieke programma's voor lokale verkiezingen, en presenteert het aan politieke partijen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bezoeken aan de LARF!<\/a> en BROEI<\/a> deelnemers uit de eerste hand kennis laten maken met de praktijken van jongerenbetrokkenheid. LARF! is een non-profit organisatie en een culturele educatieve organisatie waar kinderen en jongeren centraal staan, ongeacht hun afkomst, achtergrond of talent en BROEI is een creatieve ruimte die het EYC ondersteunt met activiteiten, waarbij 25 jeugdgerichte organisaties gebruik maken van de ruimte en het programma. Het BROEI lab bestaat uit 60 mensen die elkaar workshops geven en samen leren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bovendien heeft de deelname aan de slotconferentie van Platform C, georganiseerd door Bataljong, het bezoek verder verrijkt met succesvolle modellen voor lokale participatie van jongeren in de besluitvorming. Platform C legt de nadruk op het maken van lokaal beleid samen met jongeren, door hen te zien als onderdeel van een ecosysteem. Tijdens belangrijke discussies werd gewezen op het belang van de stem van jongeren in de beleidsvorming, de behoefte aan betere informatie over de werking van het beleid en strategie\u00ebn om zowel jongeren als politici bij de dialoog te betrekken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het studiebezoek werd gefinancierd in het kader van het Erasmus+-programma via het nationaal agentschap JINT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
